Students currently enrolled in another WOC program may be considered for
transfer into the Harrisburg Area Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing
Education Home Study Program by submitting the following:
- A copy of the application from the program in which the student is
currently enrolled.
- Evidence of liability insurance, health insurance and verification of
a course related to universal precautions.
When the appropriate documentation has been received by WEA, Inc., the
Admissions Committee will review the application.
To receive credit for work completed in another home study program, the
applicant must achieve a passing grade on examinations which will be
administered for content previously completed.
The student will be required to pay the invoiced amount before the module
is mailed.
Upon completion of the five modules of course theory the student may
proceed to the clinical practicum when the following documentation is on
file at WEA, Inc.:
- A completed preceptor application. If the application process has been
completed for another program, a faxed copy from the program to WEA,
Inc. is acceptable.
- A signed copy of WEA, Inc. contract.
- Documented communication between the preceptor and the Program
Director.
When transferring into the program prior to, during, or after completion
of the 160-hour clinical component of the course, the student will be
required to:
- Submit a letter of application.
- Request that a copy of your student records be mailed or faxed to WEA,
Inc.
- Request that a copy of the preceptor's application be mailed to WEA,
Inc. by the program from which you are transferring.
- Facilitate contract negotiations.
- Successfully complete the final examination.
- Complete clinical documentation requirements.
- Submit a professional paper.
Upon completion of the aforementioned requirements, the student will have
met the criteria for graduation from a WOCN accredited Wound, Ostomy and
Continence Nursing Education Program.

clarification and/or additional information.
