What Is WOCN Split Option

Program Description

This program gives students the option to design a curriculum which combines the Home Study with attendance at portions of the onsite courses.

Home Study Modules
Introduction
Wound Management
Abdominal Stoma Management
Fecal and Urinary Incontinence
Professional Practice
On-Site Units
Week 1 -- Wound Management
Week 2 -- Urinary and Fecal Incontinence
Week 3 -- Abdominal Stoma Management - GI
Week 4 -- Abdominal Stoma Management - GU
*Professional Practice content is integrated throughout Weeks 1-4
Example:
A student may elect to complete the Home Study Modules 1, 3, and 5 in addition to attending weeks 1 and 2 for the Wound and Incontinence content.
Following completion of the Home Study and On-Site course work the student would advance to the 160-hour clinical practicum with an approved preceptor.
