    Admission and Requirements

The following is a brief overview of the steps for admission and completion of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Nurse and Wound Care Specialty Nurse Programs

  1. Download the application form and submit it with the required documentation listed below along with a $75 application fee to Wicks Educational Associates, Inc.

  2. When all documentation is received, WEA will e-mail or send the student an acceptance letter and an invoice for tuition.

  3. Student remits the total tuition amount.   All major credit cards are accepted.

  4. Student receives Module One (Introduction & Wound Management) along with the Student Handbook.

  5. Upon successful completion of Module One, the student is guided through Modules Two through Four.

  6. Upon successful completion of all Modules, the student begins the 160-hour clinical practicum with an approved preceptor.   The fee for the clinical is negoiated between the student and the preceptor.

  7. Upon fulfillment of the theory and clinical practicum, and all course requirements, the student graduates as a WOC Nurse and is eligible to take the WOCNCB® Exam.

The following is a list of requirements for admission into the Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Nurse and Wound Care Specialty Nurse Programs

  1. Completed application form.

  2. Completed health form with documentation of immunizations.

  3. Official college transcript.

  4. Copy of your nursing license (ACTUAL form, not the display certificate).

  5. Two recommendations.

  6. Proof of professional liability insurance (with coverage of a least $1 million and $3 million in the aggregate) (individual policy, not through employer).

  7. Proof of completion of Universal Precautions education within the past (12) months.

  8. Proof of HIPAA training.

  9. $75 non-refundable application fee.

  10. Regional criminal background check.

  11. Copy of health insurance and CPR cards.
